Trim Levels

Engine
Choose from three engine options, depending on how much power you want your Cherokee to have. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque comes standard across all trims. Two optional engines include a 3.2-liter V-6 that produces 271 horsepower and 239 pound-feet of torque or the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an output of 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission pairs with all three engines.
Performance
Whether driving down the freeway, buzzing around town, or climbing up muddy roads, the Cherokee handles well and provides a smooth ride. Front-wheel drive is standard on the Latitude, Latitude Plus, Altitude, Limited, and High Altitude. Upland, North Edition, Trailhawk, and Trailhawk Elite come standard with four-wheel drive, which is an option with the other trims.
Both Trailhead trims have a two-speed four-wheel-drive system with a rear-locking differential, a beefier suspension, and Jeep's active drive lock designed for off-road performance. When equipped properly and paired with the 3.2-liter V-6 engine, the Cherokee has a towing capacity of 4,500 pounds. The trailer sway control system helps you maintain control of the trailer.
Interior
Fit five people comfortably on two rows of seats. The Jeep's interior is well-appointed, with manually adjustable cloth front seats on the base and lower trims and leather upholstery and power-adjustable seats on the upper trims. Optional packages and available features add heated or cooled ventilated seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control. With the proper seat configurations, you get 54.7 cubic feet of cargo space, and the Cherokee has plenty of cubby holes and compartments to store small personal items.
Jeep's Uconnect infotainment system features an 8.4-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Available features include voice-activated navigation, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot, Amazon Alexa access, and SiriusXM satellite radio.
Safety Features
Whether you're driving the kids to school or heading down snowy roads for a ski vacation, you'll be happy to know the Cherokee comes with plenty of safety features. Depending on the trim and add-on packages, you get driver-assist features such as blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights.
