Trim Levels
Whether you want a luxurious Ram 1500 to take the family out to dinner or a powerhouse to haul supplies to the job site, you'll get just what you want from the six available trims: the Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, off-road-themed Rebel, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited. Each model has a unique front grille design that makes it easy to differentiate between trims.
It's easy to access the Ram 1500's bed with the multifunction tailgate that has a 60/40 split swing-away design. In addition, an available cargo management system allows for versatile and flexible storage options in the bed of the truck.
Engine
The Ram 1500 has plenty of power, regardless of which of the five engines you choose. A 3.6-liter V-6 that produces 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque comes standard on most trims. The same engine is also available with an eTorque mild-hybrid system that boosts the pound-feet of torque to 359.
Move up the power scale with a 5.7-liter V-8 engine that produces 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. The same engine with the eTorque mild-hybrid system gives the Ram 1500 530 pound-feet of torque. You can also choose a 3.0-liter V-6 diesel engine with an output of 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. A TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission pairs with all the engines.
Performance
No matter the terrain, you'll experience a smooth ride due to the Ram 1500's advanced four-corner air suspension system. Rear-wheel drive comes standard with four-wheel drive optional across the Ram 1500 lineup. The Rebel comes with four-wheel drive only and has beefed-up suspension, wider tires, and a rear locking differential that helps you tackle the toughest of trails. When properly equipped, your Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,750 pounds.
Interior
The inside of the Ram 1500 is roomy and filled with modern technology. The Uconnect infotainment system features an 8.4-inch touch screen and an available 12-inch display. Integrate your smartphone and listen to your favorite playlists with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Keep your devices charged with the multiple USB ports or, on select trims, a wireless charging pad.
Depending on the cab and bed configurations, six people fit comfortably inside the truck. Base trims feature cloth seats, and the upper trims have luxurious, supple leather with real wood trim accents. Heated, ventilated, and power multi-adjustable seats come standard on the upper trims and are optional for the lower ones.
Safety Features
The Ram 1500 doesn't skimp on safety. Key driver-assist features include car and trailer blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beam headlights, and electronic stability control. When you choose the Advanced Safety Group package, you get a forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and a lane departure warning.
