The Grand Cherokee remains one of the best SUVs because of Jeep’s commitment to fresh technology and forward-thinking design, while also keeping true to its rugged roots. In that spirit, the 2026 Grand Cherokee receives plenty of exciting updates for shoppers in Muscatine, IA, to take advantage of. Read on to discover everything you need to know, Jeep fans.

The new Hurricane uses Turbulent Jet Ignition to boost fuel economy and performance in tandem, and it allows a towing capacity of up to 6,200 pounds.

- New exterior colors, including Steel Blue, Fathom Blue, and Copper Shino.
- A redone cabin with new design and available trim accents.

2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Powertrains
Aside from the newly introduced 2.0-liter Hurricane 4 Turbo engine, there are two other engine options to choose from, both of which return from the previous model year:
- The standard 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine, which boasts 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Like the new Hurricane engine, it also has a max towing capacity of up to 6,200 pounds.
- The 2.0-liter I4 Turbo PHEV engine found in the Grand Cherokee 4xe cranks out up to 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. It’s rated for an impressive 56 MPGe, and when fully charged, it can drive up to 25 miles on electric power alone. It’s capable of towing up to 6,000 pounds.
Another notable performance feature is a selection of three different four-wheel drive systems: Quadra-Trac I®, Quadra-Trac II®, and Quadra-Drive® II with rear electronic limited-slip differential all offer different levels of capability, and their availability depends on the trim you choose.
Additionally, other available features include the Selec-Terrain® selectable drive mode system, which is now available in the Laredo trim, and Quadra-Lift® Air Suspension, which comes in the top-level trims.
2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Interior

For larger families, the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is also returning. This three-row version of the classic Grand Cherokee design seats up to seven people comfortably and offers significantly more storage space, making it ideal for bigger groups and road trips.
The Grand Cherokee L has a total passenger volume of 152 cubic feet and a max cargo volume of 84.6 cubic feet. On the other hand, the regular Grand Cherokee comes in at 145 cubic feet of passenger volume and 70.8 cubic feet of cargo space.
2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Tech and Safety

The 2026 Grand Cherokee benefits from the upgraded 12.3-inch Uconnect® 5 center touch screen with new standard navigation. Other available features returning from the previous model year include the Premium McIntosh® Sound System with 19 speakers and a subwoofer, as well as the 10.25-inch front passenger touch screen.
In terms of safety features, Jeep pulled all the stops when designing the current-gen Grand Cherokee, and even more standard features are getting piled on for 2026. Automatic Emergency Braking, Active Lane Management, Blind-Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection, Rear Park Assist, and more are now included in the base Laredo trim, making driving safer for all.
